How to Treat Scratches From Agave

Often used as an ornamental lawn decoration, the agave plant has thick, sharp, pointed teeth on its leaves and spine. Its leaf juice has been used to relieve itching because it contains steroids that reduce inflammation, but its flesh is caustic and capable of causing severe blistering if left untreated.

Things You'll Need

• Water
• Clean rag or washcloth
• Hydrocortisone cream

Instructions

1. Flush the wound with warm water.

2. Pat the wound dry with a clean rag or washcloth.

3. Place hydrocortisone cream on the wound.
