How to Troubleshoot a KitchenAid Mixer

Kitchenaid manufactures several models of stand mixers for use in the home. The stand mixers are convenient in that they don't need to be held to operate. This not only frees you to work on another part of the recipe while the mixer is running, but eliminates hand fatigue that can develop when using a hand mixer. Most problems that occur with Kitchenaid mixers need to be fixed by a qualified service technician. If the mixer does not start, however, you can troubleshoot the situation and attempt a fix yourself before sending it out for service.

Instructions

1. Check the power cord and ensure that it is fully plugged into a working electrical outlet.

2. Open your fuse box and check that a fuse hasn't blown or a circuit breaker hasn't been tripped. Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker.

3. Turn off the mixer and let it sit for approximately 10 seconds before turning it back on.

4. Allow the mixer to sit for at least 30 minutes if it still will not start. Then try turning it on again.
