How to Repair a Disc Kitchen Faucet

      Shut off the water supply under the sink and open the faucet to drain any remaining water.

      Lay a towel on a nearby counter. As you disassemble the disc faucet, place each part on this towel in order. This will help you keep track of all the parts. Put another towel in the empty sink to protect it as you work.

      Take the faucet apart. Remove the button on top of the handle. Loosen the setscrew below the handle and remove the handle. Next, remove the escutcheon cap that covers the disc cylinder. Loosen the mounting screws in the disc cylinder and lift the disc cylinder off the faucet.

      Clean the faucet. Turn over the disc cylinder. Remove the inlet seals from the openings in the bottom of the cylinder. Clean the openings and seals with a plastic scouring pad.

      Examine all the parts of your disc kitchen faucet. If any are damaged, take them to the hardware store and buy replacements before you reassemble your faucet.

      Put the faucet back together. Replace the inlet seals in the openings in the bottom of the disc cylinder. Place the disc cylinder on the faucet, openings facing down. Tighten the mounting screws on the disc cylinder. Place the escutcheon cap over the disc cylinder. Replace the handle and tighten the setscrew. Place the button on top of the handle.

      Remove the towel from the sink, turn the water supply back on and open the faucet. If the faucet continues to leak, replace the disc cylinder. After obtaining a replacement part, disassemble and reassemble the disc kitchen faucet as before.
