How to Set the Scope for an Airsoft Gun
Airsoft guns are used in simulated military exercises where fired pellets replace live ammunition. The extreme sport of airsoft has many different variations and a wide selection of guns is used. Assault and sniper rifles are often equipped with a scope, which allows the user to magnify the view of the target and better align the enemy in the crosshairs for a more accurate shot. These devices must be properly set so that the weapon's fire hits exactly where the scope is aimed.
Instructions

1
Hang the paper targets at eye level 25 to 50 yards from your firing position. Use a longer targeting range if you expect to regularly make shots from greater distances.
-
2
Attach the scope to the gun if it is not pre-mounted. For most guns, this will be a simple matter of sliding the scope into place and latching it to the barrel.
-
-
3
Mark your firing spot on the ground by drawing lines along both sides of your weapon with your pencil. This will ensure your gun is firing at the same angle for each shot.
-
4
Sight the center of the target through the scope.
-
5
Fire three shots into the target. Three shots will help you determine the accuracy of the scope's setting.
-
6
Set the safety on your weapon. Always set the safety after firing and when the gun is not in use.
-
7
Inspect the target to verify your scope's alignment. If the shots are off the mark, you will need to manually adjust the scope.
-
8
Rotate the left scope wheel clockwise to raise the scope and lower the angle of trajectory. Counter-clockwise turns will lower it and make the gun fire higher.
-
9
Turn the right scope wheel clockwise to move the scope to the right or counterclockwise to move it to the left. Moving the scope will align your shots in the opposite direction. Right movement will result in more shots to the left and left movement will guide your shots right.
-
10
Fire three more shots into the targets at the same range. Check the cluster of shots to determine what changes your scope adjustments have made.
-
11
Repeat this process until your scope is able to perfectly sight the target every time.

Tips & Warnings
Brace yourself against rocks or lie prone to cut down on the influence of other factors in your shots.
Inspect the targets yourself and with your weapon under a safety setting. This will ensure that you are pleased with the results and avoid unnecessary risk to others who may wish to help and accidentally move downrange into the line of fire.
