How to Draw a Kunai Knife
The kunai knife was originally a Japanese peasant weapon. The original kunai were used to dig and prepare soil for planting. The handles were solid and light, while the blades were thick, leaf-shaped and heavy. Revolting peasants sharpened the edges of the kunai and used them as throwing knives. The heavy blade caused fewer revolutions in the knife, which resulted in greater accuracy. Drawing and making your own kunai is a simple task with the right tools.

1
Find a block of wood about a half-inch thick, 6 inches wide and a foot long. This will give you plenty of room to center and detail a sturdy kunai knife.
-
2
Draw a straight 12-inch line down the center of the wood. Draw a 2-inch horizontal line through the 12-inch line 3 inches from the top. Make a small dot 3 inches below the 2-inch line.

-
3
Use your ruler to draw a slanted line connecting the top of the 12-inch line and the left side of the 2-inch line. Repeat this on the right side.
-
4
Draw two more slanted lines connecting the dot with the left and right ends of the 2-inch line. This is the blade of the kunai; it should be diamond shaped.
-
5
Draw a circle about an inch wide at the end of the line furthest from the horizontal marks. This marks the end of the knife's handle.
-
6
Widen the knife's handle by drawing lines on either side of the center line, a quarter-inch away on either side. Draw these lines from the base of the blade to the circle at the end of the handle.
-
7
Cut the kunai knife out, if desired, with the hand saw. When the whole shape is cut out, trim the flat of the blade at an angle so that the edges are sharp. Use sandpaper to sand away sharp edges and make the handle round instead of square.
