How to Remove Personal Information From a WoW Account
World of Warcraft, or WoW, is a popular "massively multiplayer online role-playing game" from Blizzard Entertainment. Players must apply for an account with Blizzard's Battle.net service to set up a subscription to the WoW game service. This account contains personal information, which may include a saved credit card number. This is sensitive information, and people worried about identity theft may wish to remove this information if they stop playing the game.
Things You'll Need

1
Email billing@blizzard.com to request that all credit card or other subscription information be removed from the account. This email must be sent from the address listed on the account as belonging to the primary account holder.
-
2
Include the primary account holder's first and last names, date of birth and telephone number. These security details are required to verify that you are the account holder and are not attempting to change the details on someone else's subscription.

3
Request any additional removals that you deem necessary. Blizzard keeps names, birth dates and email addresses on file to identify account holders. This information can be removed when you close an account, but it will require speaking with a customer service representative directly.
-
4
Wait for your response email. Blizzard will always email you with an address ending in @blizzard.com and will never ask for your password or other access information. A representative may call a listed contact number if further details are necessary, but even then you will not be asked for passwords.

Tips & Warnings
Consider purchasing a Blizzard Authenticator if you wish to lock down your account so that only you may ever use it. This device connects to your computer via a USB port and is required to use a secured account.
Blizzard does require some personal information to be kept on file in order to restart your subscription to the World of Warcraft game service. Asking the company to permanently remove this information may result in complete loss of access to the Battle.net services, including any other games for which you use the ID.
