How to Remove Campagnolo Ergo Shifters

Remove the bar tape from both sides of your handlebars. The Ergo shifters will not come off with the bar tape in place. Also remove any bar ends of plugs that may get in the way.

Loosen the cable stop bolt on the front derailer, front brake, rear derailer and rear brake. Remove any cable ends using cable cutters so that the cables may slide through the housing.

Peel back the rubber "hoods" that cover the shifters. Locate on the outside of each shifter the handlebar clamp bolt. Loosen the bolts with a 4 mm hex wrench.

Lightly slide the shifters toward the bottom of the handlebars. Any cables attached to the shifters will slide out of the housing as you remove the shifters.

Wind the loose cables into a ring or tie them together to keep them out of the way.

Tips & Warnings
It is easiest to remove the cables from derailers after you have been shifted them down to the lowest gear.
