How to Airbrush Pictures
Airbrushing pictures removes flaws from the subject of a picture that may not have been noticeable during the photo shoot session. Airbrushing is an industry-accepted procedure practiced on even supermodel subjects. Artists often use airbrushed photos on shots for magazine covers to create a flawless representation of the cover model. With a little practice and patience, you can learn to use graphics software to airbrush the blemishes from your photos.

Select a graphics program. Adobe Photoshop and GIMP are good choices. You can download GIMP free. Mac users can use Adobe Photoshop or GIMP as well.

Open the photo you want to airbrush by going to the "File" menu and choosing the "Open" option. Browse to the location on your computer to find the picture you want to airbrush. Double click the photo with your mouse to open it in your graphics software.

Select the eyedropper tool from the toolbox palette and pick up a color from your image that resembles the color of the area you need to airbrush. Next, choose the airbrush tool and try it over the blemished area of your photo to see if the color matches. Don't release your mouse button as you apply this test. If it doesn't look good, go to the "Edit" menu and click "Undo." Repeat the process to test another color.

Hold your left mouse button down and move it over the blemished portion of the photograph you want to airbrush. This will apply the selected color to the blemished area. Apply the color in small amounts so you can monitor how well it matches. Use your smudge tool to blend the airbrushed color with the blemished area until you have achieved a flawless appearance.
