How to Draw a Rocking Chair
Rocking chairs come in a number of styles and designs, although the most traditional is a boxy, rigid construction, made of wood. Rocking chairs are often found in living rooms and on front porches. This is an easy drawing to elaborate on (or alter) as needed.

Draw a diamond-shaped parallelogram by drawing two side-ways V's facing into each other. One V will be pointing to the right, and one V will be pointing to the left. This represents the seat of the rocking chair.

Draw a vertical line extending from the front corner of the seat of the chair. This is one leg of the rocking chair. Draw a second vertical line (the same length as the first line) extending from the back corner on the side facing closest to the viewer. This is the second leg of the rocking chair. Draw a third vertical line (the same length as the first two) extending from the front corner of the chair facing away from the viewer. Finally, draw a third line (the same length as the first three) from the rear corner of the chair facing away from the viewer. Erase the portion of the line that can be seen through the seat.

Draw a curved line (like a side-ways parenthesis) connecting the front leg on the side facing the viewer to the back leg on the side facing the viewer. Then, draw a curved line connecting the front leg on the side facing away from the viewer to the back leg on the side facing away from the viewer. You have now drawn the bottom half of the rocking chair.

Draw a vertical line extending out the top of the rocking chair seat. This should be slightly longer than the chair leg, extending from the back corner on the side of the chair facing the viewer. Draw a second vertical line, the same length as the first, extending out the top of the rocking chair seat on the side of the chair facing away from the viewer. These two lines represent the sides of the back-rest of the chair.

Draw a line across the top of the two lines you drew in step 4, connecting them. You have completed the back-rest of the chair.
