Instructions

    • 1

In a bucket, mix 1 gallon of warm water with 1 cup of distilled white vinegar. This vinegar has both disinfectant and deodorizing qualities, making it the perfect everyday floor cleaning solution for hardwood floors.

    • 2

Also add in an optional 1 cup of baking soda, which works as an added cleaner, as well as deodorizer. Stir into the warm water until all baking soda is dissolved.

    • 3

Dip a mop in the cleaner, pull it out, and wring out excess water. Mop over the floors as you normally would, and let air dry.

    • 4

For odors that still remain, sprinkle the hardwood floors with a light dusting of baking soda, and let it sit for a few hours. This allows the baking soda to work for a longer period of time, absorbing any pet odor that the floor is emitting.

    • 5

When a few hours have passed, mop again with the cleaning solution to collect the baking soda.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure to wring out the mop thoroughly, as too much water can damage the hardwood floors. Wring out until the mop is damp, not dripping wet.
