Seal all cedar cabinets, drawers and other items with weather stripping or other sealant to protect the inside of the furniture from air, which can shorten cedar's lifespan.

Sand your cedar wood lightly with 60-grit sandpaper. Natural cedar has a bright, red color, which fades over time. When the red color returns, you've sanded enough. This sanding also restores the aroma of your cedar wood.
