How to Make Day Lily Bouquets
Day lilies are beautiful, exotic-looking flowers that add a burst of color and romance to any floral bouquet. Bouquets made out of day lilies are popular for wedding bouquets, gift bouquets, and even decorative bouquets around your house. Day lily bouquets are easy to make at home; you just must know how to prepare and wrap the flowers to make them look their best.

1
Place the day lilies in a vase with water and allow them to soak overnight so that they absorb plenty of water and are fully hydrated. Remove them from the water, dry the stems, and lay them out on a table.
-
2
Pick up one day lily and run your fingers along the stem of the flower, bending it in the same direction that the flower naturally curves. This will help you position the flower in the bouquet.

3
Group the flowers according to the way they curve, placing the ones that curve to the right on the right side of the table, the ones that curve to the left on the left side of the table, and the straight flowers in the center.
-
4
Place your hands at both ends of the pile of flowers and sweep them into a bunch. Shake the flowers up and down gently to help them settle, while using your hands to shape them into a rounded bouquet. Gently pull the stems to make the flower buds even.

5
Tuck the end of the raffia string under your fingers that are holding the bouquet, leaving a few inches of string hanging from your fingers. Wrap the raffia around the stems right above your hand, and then tie the two ends into a knot.
-
6
Cut the ends of the stems, measuring about two fist lengths from the base of the bouquet.
