How to Use Your Cell Phone to See in the Dark

Since back lit cell phones came onto the market people have used their cell phone's light to see down in the dark. Since people tend to keep their cell phone next to them at all times it makes perfect sense that the light on the cell phone would be re-purposed and used to keep the cell phone owner from tripping over something on the floor or even running into the wall.

Things You'll Need

• Cell phone with back lit screen

Instructions

1. Make sure your cell phone is on and the brightness setting is set at the highest possible level. The brightness of your screen will determine how far in the dark you will be able to see.

2. Press any button to make your screen light up. Raise the cell phone slightly above your head for maximum illumination.

3. If your cell phone's screen goes dark press another button so that the light comes back on.

4. After you have made it safely through the darkness clear the screen of your cell phone by pressing the end button a few times.

Tips & Warnings

• Be careful that you do not drop your cell phone in the dark or you may not be able to find it.

• If you search the downloadable applications for your phone you may be able to find a flashlight application just for this purpose.
