How to Spray Nectarine Trees

Spraying your nectarine trees is an important step in making sure your tree stays healthy and bares delicious fruit. Spraying will protect your nectarine tree from disease and bacteria and also keep it pest free. Instructions

    • 1

      Spray your nectarine tree three times at the end of the dormant months of November, December and January with an oil and sulfur-based spray and a hose. Spray the trunk and limbs thoroughly, making sure to get full coverage.

      Spray your tree again in the spring before the budding stage occurs. Use the spray to completely cover the limbs and trunk with the liquid as well as any new growth.

      Cover your nectarine tree with oil and sulfur-based spray during the pink budding stage. Make sure to also spray the buds and flowers to add additional protection.

      Inspect your tree through the summer months for signs of bugs, browning leaves and disease. If you see anything alarming, spray your tree and continue to monitor it through the rest of the summer and fall.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not spray your tree within fourteen days of harvest. If spraying is needed while the tree is bearing fruit, do not directly spray the fruit.
