How to Increase the Water Level in a Toilet Bowl
Having the proper amount of water in a toilet bowl helps it to flush completely clean. The amount of water in each individual toilet bowl is determined by the shape of the toilet itself. Some are designed to leave only a small amount of water in the bowl. However, if the water level in the toilet is not allowing a clean flush every time, it can easily be adjusted with a few simple steps. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Remove the tank lid from the toilet by simply lifting it off and locate the float inside the tank. The float looks sort of like a ball and is usually attached to the end of a metal or plastic rod.
-
2
Locate the screw that's at the opposite end of the float, where the metal or plastic rod connects to the water valve. If you see more than one screw, adjust the screw that connects to the metal or plastic rod only.

3
Adjust the screw, using a screwdriver, to reset the height at which the float will shut off the water valve. Each toilet may be different, but most likely you will need to turn the screw counter-clockwise. Adjust the screw about 1/4 of a turn, check the water level and repeat this process until the desired water level is achieved.
