Stimulus checks are checks the government sends out that are not taxable. Individuals can use the money as they see fit. There are a few qualifications that one must meet in order to be eligible for a stimulus check. Some of these include having a qualifying income of over $3,000, Social Security benefits, or Veterans Affairs. There is a way to track your stimulus check to find out how much you are going to get before it actually arrives in your mailbox.

Instructions

1. Get out a copy of last years taxes. There is information on there that you will need to find out for your stimulus check amount.

2. Call 1-866-234-2942. Decide whether you want to listen in English or in Spanish.

3. Follow the automated prompts. You will need to enter your filing status, number of exemptions claimed, and your social security number.

4. Wait for the system to compute your information. It will come back with a message about the status of your stimulus check. It will also inform you of the amount of your check.

• Check the IRS website to see if you can use the Internet to check the status of your stimulus check.

• Don't worry if the automated teller has no record of your stimulus check. It may not have been scheduled yet. It may also be delayed if you were late in filing your taxes.
