Instructions

    • 1

Organize the 3-dimensional letters you plan to hang on the wall. If you are spelling a name or word, for example, get the letters in the proper order.

    • 2

Set each letter on a piece of paper that is larger than the overall size of the letter. Trace the edge of the letter using a pencil. This will give you an outline of the letter that you can use to determine the placement of the letter. On the outline, identify where the hanging mechanism is located -- this will be used to determine where the nail should be in the wall.

    • 3

Tape each piece of paper on the wall in the correct order. Move the pieces of paper with the letters around until you are pleased with the result.

    • 4

Place a nail on the point on the paper where the hanger is located. Make sure the nail head is not too large for the hanger on the decorative letter -- check this before inserting it into the wall. Using a hammer, hit the nail until it is inserted in the wall with enough space between the nail head and the wall to hang the letter. Repeat this step with each letter.

    • 5

Remove the tape from the pieces of paper. Once removed, pull the paper off the wall; it will be attached with the nail, but you can tear it off easily.

    • 6

Hang the letters onto the nails, using the hanging device on the back of the letter. If the nail is sticking out from the wall too far, remove the letter and slightly tap the nail, then re-hang the letter.
