How to Customize Boxer Shorts

Things You'll Need
- Boxer shorts in desired size
- Assorted fabric paints
- Small brushes in assorted sizes
- Fabric markers
- Fabric pencil
- Thin cardboard cut to size of shorts
- Notions (ribbon, beads, patches, etc.) (optional)
- Fabric glue (optional)

Wash and dry boxer shorts according to label. Remove from dryer immediately or iron to smooth any wrinkles. Insert the cardboard in the shorts. This will keep your paints from bleeding through to the other side.

Use the fabric pencil to sketch your design--do the front and the back.

Use fabric paints and markers to color the design. Gently lift the fabric off the cardboard so that it does not stick. Let the fabric dry thoroughly before painting the other side or adding embellishments. Follow the directions on the paint label for drying times.

Once you have finished decorating with paint and the paint has dried, embellish with beads, ribbon, or patches, using the fabric glue to adhere each piece to the boxer shorts. Follow the fabric glue label instructions on drying times.

Allow the boxer shorts to dry thoroughly and remove the cardboard insert. Wash according to the paint and fabric glue label instructions.

Tips & Warnings
Cut small designs out of the boxer short fabric and glue a contrasting color fabric on the inside so it shows through the "hole."
Customize size by adding a ribbon "belt" that can be tied as tightly as necessary.
