How to Find Friends on the Playstation Network

Friends in the Playstation Network are people you can chat with, play games with and perform other tasks with. Friends are mostly used on the Playstation 3 video game console. Finding friends on the network should be easy.

1. Find friends by playing games online and then friending your allies or foes. Friends can be total strangers that you had a good match with. Note their Playstation Network ID - the name they use in a match - and address an "add a friend" message to that person through the PSN.

2. Interact with possible friends on message boards. Playstation.com supports a vibrant community of forums. Read up on games and post to forums. Converse with like-minded gamers and ask them for their Playstation Network ID to "friend" them with your Playstation 2, 3 or PSP.

3. Read blog posts by writers who cover the Playstation Network. They will often list their PSN ID, and you can send them friend invites that way. Compliment their writing and ask to play with them.

• Get your offline friends from school or work to give you their personal online ID and write them down to "friend" them later.
