How to View a Trendnet Camera over the Internet

Setting up a Trendnet camera over the Internet allows you to keep in remote touch with your security system whether traveling or at home. Trendnet security camera products come in both wired and wireless forms and in single and multi-camera packages. It will take from 15 to 30 minutes to perform an initial setup of the Trendnet camera. This process entails the installation of the setup program from the Trendnet Utility CD-ROM, the installation and configuration of the IP camera, and the configuration of the Internet viewing software.

Tips & Warnings

  • Perform the initial installation near your router.
  • Configure the IP camera(s) from a wired computer to minimize detection problems.
  • Trendnet requires the usage of Internet Explorer 6.0 or later. Install any Windows updates related to the browser prior to installing the Trendnet software.
  • The Utility CD-ROM also includes a user guide. Consult the guide for more details or if you have troubleshooting issues.
  • Keeping the default password can allow others to easily change your settings and lock you out of your own system. Change the password of your Trendnet system when prompted to do so. Write down the new password so you will not forget.
