Instructions

    • 1

Print the feng shui (bagua or luo pan) template on transparency paper. A bagua template is available at:
      www.astro-fengshui.com/misc/images/template.jpg.

    • 2

Lay the floor plan of your house, office or room on a flat surface and orient it so that the front door faces you (bottom of the page).

    • 3

Draw a square on your floor plan.

    • 4

Divide this main square into a grid containing three rows and three columns. You end up with nine cells in your main square.

    • 5

Place the bagua transparency on the center of the floor plan and orient the page so that south faces the same direction as the front door (facing toward the bottom of the page).

    • 6

Locate your front door and mark the degree. (The number is located on the outside ring of the bagua.)

    • 7

Mark the directions of eight sectors (S, SE, E, NE, N, NW, W, SW) on your floor plan. Check that each direction falls into an outer cell of your drawn square.

    • 8

Label the sector for each direction: S=Fame (red); SE=Love/Marriage (pink); E=Child/Creativity (white); NE=Helpful People (gray); N=Career/Life Path (black); NW=Wisdom/Knowledge (blue-green); W=Family/Health (green); SW=Wealth/Power (purple).

    • 9

Label the center cell of the floor plan "Earth/Center."

    • 10

Review each sector and what rooms fall into each sector. Reflect on the function of each room and whether its function or decor is in line with the sector label. For example, is your kitchen located in the S (Fame) sector? Are you considered a good cook?

    • 11

Apply the bagua floor plan to modify or enhance areas of your life by improving the theme of a room to be more in line with its sector's theme. For example, to enhance the NW sector (Wisdom/Knowledge), consider installing a bookcase in that area or painting the walls blue-green.
