How to Wrap Bridal Party Gifts

Most brides and grooms give their bridal party a thank-you gift for all of their hard work in preparation for the wedding. Sometimes, the gifts are practical, such as jewelry for the bridesmaids to wear with their dresses. Other times, the gift is more fun, such as flasks for groomsmen. Either way, the gifts must be wrapped. Add a little flair to your gift presentation by using paper and ribbon that match your wedding.

Instructions

    • 1

Select wrapping paper and ribbon based upon colors used in the wedding. To further the theme of the wedding, match the colors to the bridesmaids' dresses or flowers. Take a swatch of the bridesmaids' dresses with you to help select colors.

    • 2

Unroll a length of wrapping paper. Place the item, preferably in a box, onto the unrolled paper. Loosely wrap the item with the wrapping paper to find the appropriate length to cut. You want to leave a 2-inch overlap between the edges of the paper. Cut the wrapping paper at this overlap point.

    • 3

Place a piece of tape on the wrapping paper edge to secure the paper to the gift. Wrap the paper around the gift and fold the leftover edge of paper to create an even seam. Secure the seam to the package with tape. Only a few pieces should be needed.

    • 4

Cut any excess paper off the top or bottom of the gift. Leave yourself enough paper to cover the ends of the present. Use the edge of the box to create a crease in the top flap of one end. Push the sides of the wrapping paper inwards to create another crease. Tape the inward crease to the box. Push the top edge down and secure it. Do the same for the bottom edge. Repeat the process for the other side.

    • 5

Place a ribbon on the top of the present, along with a gift tag or small note personally written to each attendant.

    • 6

Add a bit of flair to your package by placing a small gift to the top of the gift, such as a monogrammed keychain. This can be taped under the ribbon.

Tips & Warnings

  • Many brides give their bridesmaids monogrammed bags to hold all of their belongings on the day of the wedding. If this is the gift you choose, simply tie a ribbon around the bag handle and place a small note in the bag. Tissue paper can be added on the inside to make the bag serve as its own gift bag.

  • Gift wrapping odd-shaped or bulky items can be hard. Instead, place the item into a box and wrap the box. When purchasing your gifts, ask the store if they have boxes that they would be willing to give you to fit your items.
