How to Fix Error 16 in the Sims 3 World Adventures

The Sims 3: World Adventures allow your Sims to explore worlds beyond their own neighborhoods. With this new expansion, they can travel to France, Egypt or China. Also installed with the expansion was a patch to fix common problems with the base game. The patch introduced a new problem, unfortunately: corrupted saved games accompanied by "Error Code 16."

Things You'll Need

• Sims 3 patch 1.7 or higher

Instructions

1. Open the game to play.

2. Click "Save As."

3. Name your file with a different name from your other files. You should be able to play the game.

Tips & Warnings

• Create a new game so you don't get this problem.

• Your game can be restored only if you have not attempted to save or begin a new game.

• If you haven't installed patch 1.5/1.6 or world adventures you can still restore a corrupted game. Just delete the one ending with ".Sims3" and rename the backup folder by deleting ".backup".
