How to Make Soy & Paraffin Blend Candles
Making your own candles can be fun a project for everyone. Candles make excellent gifts and can liven up home decor. Soy wax is a creamy wax that gives off a soft light and scent. When melted the wax liquefies, requiring it to be used in a container. Traditional paraffin wax is a hard wax that gives off a warm glow. Paraffin hardens quickly after melting. By blending the wax, you can make a unique and sturdy candle that will burn for a long time.

Melt 2 parts soy wax to 3 parts paraffin wax in a double boiler. Use one of the long sticks to stir the mixture.

3
Dip the wick 2 - 3 times in the hot wax. Wait 5 seconds between each dip. This will keep the wick straight and prevent it from floating in the wax. Let it dry.
