How to Make a Moving Dinosaur Cake

  1. Movable Dinosaur Birthday Cake

      Bake a basic sheet cake. The sheet cake is a one-layer cake prepared in a large pan so it can feed 12 or more people. The sheet cake pan is 18 inches by 26 inches will require three to four basic cake mixes.

      Decorate the cake so it takes you into the jungle. Frost the cake a shade of brown to symbolize the dirt.

      Use cupcakes topped with green icing to create bushes. Using blue icing to create a stream. Green icing applied in a straight but scattered pattern will give you some grass. Use circular gummies for rocks.

      Place a battery-operated movable dinosaur on the cake. Find a dinosaur that makes noise and moves its arms. You can purchase one for less than $10 and it really brings the cake to life.

      Turn the dinosaur on at the begining of the party so your guests may see it. Leave it off during games and while gifts are being opened. Turn the dinosaur back on about 5 minutes before you light the candles. Remove the dinosaur while the candles are being blown out. This is an additional gift for your child.
