How to Design Thank You Cards for Wedding Favors
Weddings bring family and friends together, sometimes from great distances. It is important for the bride and groom to acknowledge the expense and effort their guests make in order to celebrate with them. One way to convey this sense of welcome and appreciation is by creating a thank you note that accompanies the wedding favors. This thank you note should both welcome the guest to the wedding and thank them for attending. Typically, it is read by the guest during the wedding reception. This doesn't replace a more formal thank you card that is sent off after the wedding.

1
Browse online stationary and document Web sites to find simple design templates that will work with your computer. Explore free clip art Web sites for cute decorative elements you can add to your card design. Save the template you prefer and copies of the art images you might want to use.
-
2
Look through fun, interesting or cute photographs of both the bride and groom (even as children). Consider adding small photos on one side of the thank you card since the guests will find these personal mementos charming.

3
Brainstorm with your future spouse, and jot down how you feel about people joining you on this special day. Heartfelt words that reflect the personality and depth of emotion of the bride and groom can personalize the notes.

4
Design one side of the card with clip art or a photo, and design the other side with greetings, an expression of heartfelt appreciation and an acknowledgment of how much family and friends mean to you both. Remember that a favor thank you card can be more casual since it is expected that guests will read the notes at the reception.
-
5
Print your favor thank you cards on card stationary. Print both sides using a color printer, running the card through the printer on both sides.
-
6
Trim the finished card to size with a small paper cutter.
-
7
Punch a hole in the top left corner of the card using a decorative hole punch.
-
8
Thread 1/8-inch ribbon through the hole punch, and attach the thank you card to the favor container with the ribbon. Tie a bow, and trim the ribbon edges with scissors.

Tips & Warnings
Crafty brides (and grooms) can position several cards on one sheet of card stock to vary the photos and note contents, printing six to eight cards at a time. These can be cut with a small paper cutter into business card size. Having different cards will cause guests to compare and read each others notes, allowing them to talk to each other or introduce themselves.
