How to Add Arnica to Aloe Vera Gel

One of the best ways to enhance the healing properties of aloe vera gel is to add arnica. Aloe vera is a proven treatment for a number of health care concerns, as well as first aid care. Its soothing properties were known by early Egyptians, and, later, praised by the Ancient Greeks. Aloe vera soothes minor skin irritations and gastrointestinal problems with equal ease. Arnica is an herb that has a similarly distinguished record as a topical treatment for soothing muscle and joint discomforts due to overexertion and arthritis. Combined, they create a multi-use product that works well in any natural first aid kit. Before you can add arnica to aloe vera gel, you must first add it to a natural gel medium to allow the two to combine.

    • 2

Strain the resulting gel through a fine mesh strainer to remove the seeds. Allow the gel to cool.

    • 3

Add 1/4 oz. of arnica essential oil to the flaxseed gel, and mix well.

    • 4

Pour the arnica-infused gel into the bottle of aloe vera gel, and shake to combine the ingredients.

    • 5

Use the mixture topically for muscle aches, sprains, insect bites or skin rashes to bring relief and encourage healing.
