Instructions

    • 1

Call the number on the back of the credit card. Tell the credit card company representative that you need a cash advance transferred into your bank account. If you do not have cash advance privileges, the representative will inform you at this time. But if you do, the representative will ask for your bank routing number and account number. This information is on the check.

    • 2

Provide the representative with the bank routing number, which is written in the lower left corner of the check. Confirm the name of the bank to ensure the number is correct.

    • 3

Provide the representative with the account number, which is written next to the routing number.

    • 4

Tell the representative how much cash to advance. Ask what fees are deducted from the transfer, and how long the transfer will take.

    • 5

Verify that the transfer has been made into your checking by calling the bank or accessing your account online.

Tips & Warnings

  • There are three groups of numbers at the bottom of your checking account, the bank routing number, the account number and the check number. Do not include the check number as part of the account number. The check number is also written in the upper righthand corner of the check. Use this number to determine the check number at the bottom of the check.

  • Cash advances on your card must be repaid with interest, so be sure to make the monthly payments.
