Pet Bed
-
1
Cut a piece of foam to the dimensions you want for your pet bed, which depends on the size of your pet.
-
2
Cut out two pieces of fabric for the top and bottom of your pet bed. Measure the circumference of the foam and cut a piece of fabric to that length and width plus add 3 inches to the length. Cut two, 2 inch wide strips that fit the measurement of the circumference plus 2 extra inches, to make the piping.
-
-
3
Take the piping strip and lay it out on a flat surface. Place the piping cord in the middle of the strip. Fold the strip over the cord. Sew as close to the piping cord as possible to make the piping. Repeat with the remaining strip and piping cord.
-
4
Pin one piece of piping to the right side of the top piece of fabric. Sew all the way around to attach the piping. Repeat with the bottom piece of fabric.
-
5
Attach the top piece of fabric with right sides together to the side strip using pins. Sew all the way around the edges.
-
6
Pin the bottom piece of fabric to the side strip only on three sides. Stitch around all three sides.
-
7
Turn the bed cover right side out. Insert the foam. Pin the remaining side shut and sew in place to complete the bed.
Stuffed Toys
-
8
Cut out two pieces of fabric that are the same size and shape. Cut out a bone shape for a dog.
-
9
Line up the pieces of fabric with the right sides together. Use pins to hold in place if necessary.
-
10
Sew ¾ of the way around the toy. Turn the fabric right side out.
-
11
Stuff tightly with polyester stuffing. Insert catnip for a cat toy.
-
12
Hand sew the remaining edge closed.
