How to Make Your Own Wedding Books by Mac
The Macintosh has long been known as the computer to use for creating and editing graphics. The iLife suite, which comes pre-installed on every Mac computer, allows users to create unique media, from movies with iMovie to music with GarageBand. By using iPhoto, you can take your own images and put them together to make a photo book, which Apple will print off and ship to you. Doing this is an easy process and provides a way to show off your pictures and preserve your memories.

If you haven't done so already, upload your wedding photos onto your Macintosh. Do this by connecting your camera to your computer through the USB port. Upon connection, iPhoto will automatically launch and prompt you with a dialogue box; click "Upload All Photos." Depending on how many pictures you are uploading, it may take several minutes. Once the process is finished, all your photos should now be on your hard drive and be viewable through the iPhoto application.

At the bottom of the iPhoto window, click the "Book" icon. This will take you to a new interface which will allow you to design your photo book. It will first give you a list of templates from which to choose. You may choose whichever one you wish; however, the "Formal" template works well for wedding photos.
At this point, you should see two main windows: the photo book design window and another window with all of your photos. You can now drag and drop photos from your "photo window" into your "book window." The "book window" will show the actual layout of your book and have drop areas of where you can place photos. To move to other pages in your book, use the arrows in the bottom right hand corner. Depending on which template you chose, you will be allowed to type in text in various areas throughout your book. You should see the places where placing text is possible; just click in that area and type in your text. Customize the book however you wish. The iPhoto application will format your photos in a professional-looking, symmetrical style, so you need not worry about formatting issues.

Once you have filled in all the frames and pages with photos and text, you will be ready to buy the book. In the bottom right hand corner, click the "Buy Book" button. It should open a dialogue box and ask for your Apple ID and password. If you don't have an Apple ID account, it will ask you to set one up. Once you are finished setting up your Apple account, you will be able to pay for the book with a credit card. It will also ask you for shipping information. If you want the book mailed to your home, type in your home address; but if the book is a gift, you could surprise someone by putting in the address of the receiver.
