How to Break in a Mizuno Glove
When you first buy a new Mizuno glove, it is very hard to use and needs to be broken in. Breaking in a brand new glove is by no means difficult and, depending on how you decide to break it in, can actually be quite fun. Just remember that no matter how you do it, breaking in a glove takes some time, so don't expect immediate results.

Breaking in a Mizuno Glove Using Baby Oil
-
1
Lay a towel down on a flat surface, like a table. Once the towel is laid, place your Mizuno glove on it.
-
2
Splash a moderate amount of baby oil on the glove. Do not soak the glove in the oil, but do not be afraid to apply a generous amount.
-
-
3
Massage the oil into the glove. Use a firm hand to rub the oil into the leather of the glove. Start with the basket or net of the glove, and work your way from there around both the inside and outside of the glove, rubbing the oil in for between 15 and 20 minutes.
-
4
Allow the glove to dry. Once dried, place it in a warm, dry place until you are either ready to use your glove, or you intend to repeat the above process.
Breaking in a Mizuno Glove with Heat
-
5
Put a baseball inside the pocket of your Mizuno glove. Wrap the glove around the ball using either rubber bands or shoe strings.
-
6
Place your Mizuno glove in a microwave. The intense heat from the microwave will work to loosen the leather, making the glove more flexible.
-
7
Leave the glove in the microwave for no more than one minute at a time. After each one-minute period of the glove being in the microwave, take the glove out for five minutes.
-
8
Repeat this process five or six times until the glove is softened to your personal preference.

Tips & Warnings
Another way you can break your glove in is to simply play catch with it.
Using oil can sometimes make the glove heavier as it absorbs the oil.
