1
Take a look around the outside of your home. Look for an area that is hidden from general view and easily accessible.
-
2
Buy a camouflage key container. Many products are available and come in the shape of a rock, flower pot or other common items found outside. You may also make your own container out of a piece of wood or pine cone.

3
Bury a key in the ground near a landmark that you can remember. You may use a natural-looking container, or place the key in a hollowed-out piece of wood. You can also place the container in a tree or under a shrub.
-
4
Attach the key to a strip of Velcro and attach to an obscure location. Do not attach the key directly to the house, as this is the first place someone will look.
-
5
Find a new hiding place once you have retrieved the key from the old one. It is quite possible someone witnessed you getting the key and you will not want to place it in the same location.

It is best not to hide a key where anyone can access it. Give a spare to a trusted neighbor or family member instead.
