How to Make a Non-Toxic Insect Spray

Insects can be quite annoying, especially when you are trying to have a good time and simply enjoy the weather. Bug and insect sprays can sometimes be more annoying than the pests themselves. Fortunately, a fresh-smelling insect spray can be made with materials that you may already have around your home. The best part is that it is non-toxic. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 2 cups water
  • Stove
  • 1 cup Avon Skin-So-Soft
  • 1 tbsp. eucalyptus oil
  • 2 tbsp. citronella oil
  • 1 tbsp. vinegar
  • Spray bottle

Instructions

    • 1

      Boil 2 cups water in a pot over high heat for about five minutes. Reduce heat to medium.

      Pour in 1 cup of Avon Skin-So-Soft oil into the hot water. Stir the mixture. Add 1 tbsp. of vinegar to the mixture.

      Slowly pour in your eucalyptus oil and citronella oil. Mix well.

      Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spritz on insects, around where you're sitting, your skin or your pet. The mixture is non-toxic to both you and your pets .It also leaves your skin smelling nice and feeling smooth.

Tips & Warnings

  • Rub the mixture in gently with your fingers. Massage the area to get it deep into the skin.

  • Avoid getting the mixture into the eyes of your pet.
