How to Make Baby Shower Luncheon Invitations
Baby showers are a fun event for new mothers and friends. Most women love attending and hosting baby showers. However, baby shower invitations and decorations can be very expensive if purchased from a store. Many stores do not offer a wide variety of invitations to choose from, which can be frustrating if a particular theme is needed. It is very easy to make your own baby shower invitations with just a few supplies. Handmade invitations can be made to match any theme, and they also tell guests that thoughtfulness was used to create the invitations.

1
Measure the decorative or colored cardstock to a 1/2 inch shorter on all sides than the blank cards. Use a ruler to draw lines on the backside of the paper so that you know where to cut. Do this for however many invitations you need.

2
Cut the paper on the lines that you drew. Glue the back side of the paper with the glue stick and lay it over the front of the card. Smooth out any air bubbles with your fingers. If desired, you can add another layer of paper to the first one; just cut it a 1/2 inch shorter than the first paper.

Measure and cut some ribbon 1 inch longer than the card invitation. Apply glue to one side of the ribbon and place it 2 to 3 inches from the bottom of the invitation. Wrap the sides of the ribbon over the edge and glue to the other side of the paper. Make a small bow with another piece of ribbon and glue to the ribbon strip.

Punch some decorative holes into one edge of the invitation. Baby feet, hearts, umbrellas, ducks and little people are all perfect for baby shower invitations. Apply baby stickers for a fun effect.

5
Write the details of the shower inside the invitations. Make sure to write the name of the new mommy and baby, the host of the shower, the location, the date, a phone number for RSVP, the theme of the shower, directions, the attire, where the mother is registered and if guests should bring anything for games or food.

Tips & Warnings
If the shower has a specific theme, it can be fun to cut the cards themselves into the shape of the theme. For example, if the theme is ducks, cut the invitations into duck shapes.
