How to Display Your Family Tree
One goal in genealogy is to assemble an accurate family tree. With genealogy software and online family tree websites, it is now relatively easy to organize that information and create attractive family tree charts that you can have printed professionally. Print smaller versions of the family tree chart from your home computer's printer.

1
Download genealogy software onto your computer or join an online genealogy site that allows you to create online family trees that you can convert to a printed chart. Ancestry.com provides this service to paid members (and offers printing services). More genealogy software programs such as Legacy, Family Tree Maker, Roots Magic and others are available.

2
Import information for three to five generations when preparing a pedigree family tree to display. Creating a family tree chart with more than five generations is not practical, as the software or service used may not allow that many generations on one page.

3
Include profile images for each person who is included on the chart. Typically, do this by scanning a photograph to create a digital format and uploading it to the genealogy website or program. Most genealogy software can pull the profile images and include them on the charts generated. Sometimes this is an option that you must choose when printing a family tree chart.

4
Print out the pedigree chart on your computer's printer or have the chart professionally printed. Some of the sites have options that allow you to send the digital file directly to the printer.
-
5
Frame or mount the finished family tree chart and hang it on a wall like a painting or photograph.
