How to Get a Gold Chocobo in Final Fantasy VII
The PlayStation fantasy role-playing game "Final Fantasy VII" contains many hidden caves and islands in its expansive game world. Many of these hidden areas contain useful items and material orbs, such as the powerful Knights of the Round spell. Though some areas are accessible with the Highwind airship, many can only be reached with a Gold Chocobo, which usually requires a long and tedious breeding process to obtain. However, there is also a shortcut to obtaining a Gold Chocobo.

Defeat the Ultimate Weapon boss. Fight one random battle afterward.

Enter the Highwind and head to the desert near the Gold Saucer. You will see a small red object protruding from the sand. This is the head of the Ruby Weapon boss.

Run into the Ruby Weapon with the Highwind. It will rise from the sand and you will enter into battle with it.

Defeat the Ruby Weapon. You will obtain the Desert Rose.

Take the Desert Rose to the old man in Kalm. He will reward you with a Gold Chocobo.

Tips & Warnings
The Ruby Weapon will begin the battle by removing two of your characters from the field with the Whirlsand spell. To prevent this, enter the battle with two characters already dead. When Ruby sticks its tentacles into the sand, cast Life2 with the third character to bring them back.
