Spray-in bed liners have become popular over the past few years for trucks because they protect the bed and don't allow water to pool in the bed floor like a drop-in liner does. When applying a spray-in bed liner, the material gets thrown across the area rather haphazardly, and if it gets on your skin, it can be a bear to remove. The best thing to do is have the right materials available to clean it off before it dries, but it can be removed even if it has set.
Things You'll Need
- Acetone or Xylene
- Shop rags
- Hand scrubber
- Sink with warm water
- Hand soap
- Moisturizing lotion
Apply xylene or acetone to the Herculiner on your skin and rub it off using shop rags. This should be done as soon as your find the bed liner on your body, but it will help to break down the material if it has been left to set for a few minutes.
Fill a sink with hot, soapy water. Place the effected area in the water, and soak it while you gently scrub the Herculiner with a brush. Do this for 10 to 15 minutes.
Apply a large amount of moisturizer to the effected area, keeping it very moist and wet. If the Herculiner isn't completely off of your skin at this point, it will typically come off in the next two to three days.
