After a long, hard day in the sun, you come home and realize that you aren’t the only one who had a bad day; your shirt didn’t have the best day, either. Sweat stains cause problems in that they aren’t as simply removed as the coffee you spilled or the dirt you fell into. Sweat stains are a different type of stain altogether. In the interest of being able to wear the shirt again without embarrassing stains and odor, there’s a remedy that can help.
Things You'll Need
- Three white aspirin
- 1 tbsp. of cream of tartar
- Old toothbrush
Crush the aspirin into a powder.
Add the powder to a cup of warm water.
Add the cream of tartar to the solution and mix well.
Lay the shirt flat on an area that can get wet without any problems, such as the bottom of a large, clean sink or a bathtub.
Saturate the stain with the solution.
Work the solution into the stain with the toothbrush.
Allow the stain to soak for 20 minutes.
Rinse the solution out of the shirt with warm running water.
Repeat the process until the stain is gone.
