How to Change Your Runescape Name

"RuneScape" is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that offers free gameplay as well as paid memberships. Initially, users were unable to change their names; the ability to create a new display name was added October 2009. The display name is separate from the username that is used to log into the game, and can only be changed once every 28 days. Changing your display name requires a paid membership.

• RuneScape paid membership

Instructions

1. Visit runescape.com and log in with your username and password.

2. Place the cursor over "Account" in the navigational menu at the top of the page. Aelect "Account Management" from the options that appear.

3. Click "Change Display Name."

4. Enter your new display name in the text box on the right side of the screen. Click "Set Name" to make the change.

Tips & Warnings

• Display names must be less than 12 characters and may include letters, numbers, underscores, dashes and spaces.

• Your previous display name will be reserved for 35 days. If you want to revert to your old name, you have seven days to do so at the end of the 28-day waiting period.

• Users playing with a free membership can't change their display names.
