Instructions

    • 1

Allow the ice cream to soften in the container on the kitchen counter until you can easily scoop the ice cream from the container. You don't want it runny, just softer--the consistency of soft-serve ice cream.

    • 2

Fill the glass you wish to use for your milkshake halfway with milk. Then pour that milk into the container you're using to make the milkshake.

    • 3

Fill the glass you wish to use for your milkshake halfway with ice cream. Scoop the ice cream into the container you're using to make the milkshake. If you want chocolate flavoring, add chocolate powder or syrup to taste (approximately 2 tsp. per 8 to12 oz glass).

    • 4

Put the lid into your container.

    • 5

Hold the container over the sink and shake it vigorously. (If you're using a thermos or jar, you don't need to hold it over the sink. The sink to catch any of the mixture that might leak out of a container without an airtight seal.)

    • 6

Shake until the ice cream has mixed with the milk to your desired consistency. Some people prefer thinner or thicker milkshakes.

    • 7

Remove the lid from the container and pour the milkshake into your glass. Enjoy.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use chocolate milk instead of regular milk for a quick chocolate milkshake.

  • Tupperware and other companies make a fantastic product that has a little insert that helps break up and mix material for the making of gravies, milkshakes and smoothies. You hold it in your hand and shake it.

  • If using a glass jar, be sure to dry your hands or wrap a towel around the jar if your hands are wet to prevent the jar from slipping from your hands and breaking.
