How to Check the Amount of RAM
Random access memory, or RAM, is temporary memory space necessary to transfer data to a computer processor to allow a computer to run. The amount of RAM installed in a computer can have a significant impact on its speed and its ability to run certain programs. If you are unsure of how much RAM a computer has installed, you may wish to check so you can judge whether it will be able to run certain applications or whether it might be in need of a RAM upgrade.

Hold down control, alt and delete at the same time to bring up the Windows Task Manager.

Click on the "Performance" tab.

Under "Physical Memory," look at the field called "Total." This will be your total amount of RAM. This tab will also display information about your RAM usage which can help you judge whether you have an adequate amount of RAM installed.
