How to Purchase a Plane Ticket Online
Booking plane tickets has never been easier. Online booking is one of the most common and convenient methods of purchase. With up-to-the-minute rates available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, travelers can easily shop around and compare prices on each airline's website. The online rates can be used to purchase electronic airline tickets, also referred to as eTickets. eTickets are similar to all other plane tickets. They can be printed online or at the airline's kiosk at the time of departure.

Go to any commercial airline website. The site you choose should open to the booking / travel itinerary form on the homepage.

Click the radio button option for "Round-trip" "One-way" or "Multi-City" to indicate the type of flight you want.

Enter your desired departure and arrival destinations in the prospective text fields.

Provide the dates for your departure and return. The text fields for the dates may vary. You may have to use the site's digital calendar or enter the dates manually.

Select the number of passengers you're booking plane tickets for. Select your "Cabin" type using the drop-down menu, and click "Find Flights" or "Book Flights."

Scroll through the available flights generated based on the travel itinerary information you provided. Click "Continue."

Click "Review and Purchase" to proceed with entering the passenger and payment information.

Choose your seats using the outline grid of the aircraft on the following page. Provide the required passenger information, including the passenger's full name, gender and age.

Enter your credit or debit card information to complete the purchase and book the plane ticket.

Tips & Warnings
Plane tickets can also be purchased online through a third-party, commercial travel merchant. Priceline.com, Expedia.com, and Orbitz.com are three of the most reputable travel merchants available online. All purchases through these sites are legitimate and secure.
Some sites may require you to select a departure and arrival flight separately. If this is the case, go through the available departure sites and click the radio button next to the departure flight of your choice. Scroll further down the page, and click "Continue." The browser will direct you to a new page with available return flights. Click the button for the return flight of your choice. Proceed to Step 7 to complete the purchase.
A credit card is required to book plane ticket reservations online. Tickets must be purchased in full for complete booking.
