How to Address a Card for a Wedding Gift
In the midst of the drama and stress of a wedding, addressing the wedding gift card should be the easiest task you do all day. There are formal and informal ways of addressing a card, but one rule remains the same.

1
Spell the names of the bride and groom correctly. That's one of the most important rules in direct mail marketing, through which companies draw donors and persuade them to invest in a company's pursuits. If a donor's name is misspelled, he or she is offended and perhaps less likely to write a check. It has the same effect on the bride and groom. They, too, will be offended.

Match your words to the wedding style. Are you attending a formal or an informal wedding? For formal weddings, use a more formal language for the outside of the wedding card. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Jones is acceptable. For an informal wedding, Aaron and Elizabeth Jones or simply, Aaron and Elizabeth, will do. When addressing the inside of the card, consider how well you know the couple. More formal relationships will take the formal language. Closer relationships should take the informal language.

Break the rules. Wedding rules aren't set in stone and are changing often. Today, couples are opting to get married during the week, don't always register for silver and crystal and are donating to causes on behalf of their guests. Non-traditional ways of doing weddings are acceptable. Try "To a Beautiful Pair" on the outside of a card or "Dear Happy Couple" on the inside.

Tips & Warnings
Don't worry about including an address on the outside envelope. The bride and groom don't expect you to know their new address, and the address isn't a needed component.
