How to Clean TaylorMade Woods
Like any golf club, TaylorMade woods are most effective when they are clean. If there is dirt or mud on the face of the club, it can reduce power and control. In addition to regular maintenance on the course, you should clean your clubs every two or three rounds.
Things You'll Need
- Bucket
- 1/2 cup dish-washing detergent
- Non-wire bristled brush (like an old toothbrush)

1
Add a half-cup of detergent to the bucket, then fill 3/4 of the way with warm water.
-
2
Lower the clubs into the bucket head first. Let them sit in the solution for one minute so that the detergent can begin loosening the dirt.

3
Take the brush and scrub the dirt off the head of the club. If you are unable to remove the dirt, put the clubs back into the bucket to soak for a few minutes, then try again.
-
4
Use the nail to gently dig out any dirt that may be stuck in the grooves on the face of the club.
-
5
Rinse the club with clean water, then dry it with the rag. When you are finished, look at it again to make sure it is totally clean before putting it back into your bag.

Tips & Warnings
Be careful not to scratch the club head with the nail. The face can handle being prodded with the nail, but there are other parts of the club head that are scratched more easily.
