How to Upload a WAV File

WAV files and other media files may be uploaded and shared from a media-hosting site. Many hosting sites offer space for uploading media to share, and some are free to the user. One of the most user-friendly, free and simple media-hosting sites is WikiUpload.com. There is no need to create an account to upload and share a WAV file on WikiUpload.com, making it a first choice when time is critical.

Instructions

    • 1

Open www.WikiUpload.com in a web browser.

    • 2

Click the "Browse" button in the field labeled "File" on the right side of the page, under the Quick File Upload heading.

    • 3

Navigate to the WAV file to upload.

    • 4

Click on the file name to select it.

    • 5

Provide a description for the WAV file in the Description Input box. Note: Though the description is optional, it is highly recommended to identify similar media. The description will list under the file name in the WikiUpload download page and assist the user in identifying the correct download if media file names are the same or very similar.

    • 6

Agree to the Terms of Service by checking the labeled checkbox.

    • 7

Click the "Upload" button. A red progress bar will appear during the upload. Do not navigate away from the page until the upload has completed. Once the upload is complete, the page will redirect to a listing for the URL reference to the newly uploaded WAV file along with a URL reference to the comments section for the WAV file. These strings may be used to directly access the upload by appending to the base URL of WikiUpload. For example, the base URL for WikiUpload is www.wikiupload.com and the string to be appended for the direct download is "/download.php?articleid=854621," the resulting URL would be "http://www.wikiupload.com/edit.php?articleid=854621." This URL entered into a browser address bar will take the user directly to the media download on the WikiUpload site.

Click the "Continue" button to proceed to the download page. The resulting page, though not clearly marked with the file name, is the dedicated page for the file download.

    • 9

Click the "Download File" button on the right of the page to download the WAV file. Note: The URL from this download page may be copied and referenced in blogs and articles, or it may be shared with other users.

    • 10

Enter the provided access code into the input box and click "Get." (A unique code will automatically appear with each download request.)

    • 11

Select the "Open" option to open the WAV file in a compatible player, or select the "Save" option to download and save the file to the hard drive.
