How to Remove Spray Glue


Spray glue is a fast-working, effective adhesive used for any number of household projects. It is a convenient alternative to traditional bottled glue and it is often easier to manage. Glue can can be dispersed more evenly and in more controlled amounts. You can still make mistakes with spray glue. however, and removing it is just about as challenging as removing regular glue.

Things You'll Need

  • Multipurpose stain remover
  • Microfiber cloth
  • Choose a multipurpose stain remover that can safely be applied to the affected area. Most brands available at home improvement centers and supermarket stores are fit for virtually all natural, household and industrial surfaces.

  • Read the instructions on the bottle for proper application of the product. Verify whether you should apply the stain remover directly onto to the glue stain or onto a cloth first.

  • Apply the instructed amount of the stain remover and allow it to soak the dried spray glue if necessary. Often the solvent will begin to dissolve the adhesive right away and can be wiped away almost immediately.

  • Loosen the softened spray glue with a microfiber cloth until it has been completely lifted from the surface. Apply more of the remover if any stubborn film persists.
