How to Clean Front Loader Washing Machines
Over the course of their careers, washing machines can become dirty. Soil and other products from clothes and particles of fabrics can cause a build-up inside the machine. In addition, spills of detergent and fabric softener around the outside of a washing machine can cause sticky messes. Cleaning these items creates a more aesthetically pleasing environment as well as helping your routine become more efficient. Things You'll Need
- Bucket
- Vinegar
- Baking soda
- Dish soap
- Warm water
- Sponge or washcloth
- Spray bottle
- Clean towel

Fill a bucket with warm, soapy water.

Wash down all available surfaces of the machine, including the tub and the door with a sponge or washcloth dipped in the soapy water.

Pour a bit of baking soda on the sponge or washcloth and scrub any stubborn stains or grimy areas.

Rinse out the sponge or washcloth, and wipe down all surfaces to remove any soap or baking soda as leaving any residual might eventually get sticky.

Pour a few tbsps. of vinegar into the soap dispenser, or directly into the machine, and run a small, hot load to clean the inside of the machine.

Mix a solution of one part water and one part vinegar in a spray bottle, and spray both sides of the glass on the door. Wipe down with the clean towel.

Tips & Warnings
Pouring a few tbsps. of vinegar in regular loads of laundry will help make your clothes brighter and continue to keep the machine clean.
Spray the vinegar solution on a clean towel, and wipe down the machine regularly.
