Jacuzzi hot tubs are a great place to unwind after a long day or a strenuous exercise routine. They help your muscles relax and bring calmness to a hectic life. However, all this peace can be shattered if bacteria and scum are growing unchecked around the tub. Things You'll Need
- Bucket
- Warm water
- Soft brush
- Hot tub surface cleaner
- Sponge or washcloth
- Sink

Drain the water from your hot tub.

Take out the filter and rinse it under the sink with warm water. Set it out in the sun to allow it to dry completely.

Fill a bucket with warm water.

Use hot tub surface cleaner available at pool and spa stores and some hardware stores, and a soft brush dipped in the warm water to scrub any scum that may have built up around the tub.

Clean the cover, inside and outside, with the same cleaner, brush and water.

Use a clean, damp sponge or washcloth to wipe out the surface of the tub and the cover.

Refill the tub with properly chlorinated water, according to manufacturer's instructions, to maintain a clean environment.

Tips & Warnings
Avoid using household cleaners, if possible. Check the pH balance of the water, if you do use household cleaners as they may cause a disruption in the pH level. The pH level should be kept between 7.2 and 7.8.
