Step 1
If your iPod Shuffle (3rd generation) is new, iTunes will give you the option to enable the VoiceOver when you plug it into the computer the first time. If you happen to skip it when you first setup your iPod Shuffle then go to the next step.

Step 2
iTunesIn iTunes, click the iPod Shuffle from the "DEVICES" and then go to the "Summary" tab. On the "Options", check the box that says "Enable VoiceOver" under Voice Feedback.

Step 3
VoiceOver software kitIf your iPod Shuffle does not have the VoiceOver kit software installed yet, iTunes will automatically check and install the latest software. Click "Next" when the Software update window appears and then click "Agree" on the license agreement.

Step 4
After the installation, iTunes will automatically generate VoiceOver messages for your iPod Shuffle (3rd generation). iTunes will synchronize the generated VoiceOver messages with your iPod Shuffle. When you disconnect your iPod Shuffle, the VoiceOver is now turned ON.
There are 19 different languages to choose from which you can also setup in the "Summary" tab under Voice Feedback. -
Step 5
To turn OFF the VoiceOver, simply plug the iPod Shuffle into your computer and go to the "Summary" tab again. Check the "Enable VoiceOver" box to disable the feature.
