How to Look Busy, Even If You're Not

If you don't look busy at work the powers that be may decide you need more to do and give you more projects.

Things You'll Need

• Coffee cup
• Clipboard or folder

Instructions

1. Always carry a coffee cup. Even if you don't drink coffee, put water or soda in it. This also gives you something do while you try to formulate a response to questions in a meeting, without hemming and hawwing.

2. Walk around carrying a clipboard or folder. Even better if the folder has the name of an important client on it. If you carry clipboard make sure there is something work related on the top, not something like your Christmas list.

3. Walk fast, like you have somewhere to be. Don't be rude, but keep on the move. Do occassionally stop and talk to people but keep the chit chat to a minimum, remember you have stuff to do.

4. Put everything on you calendar, either online or on your desk. A full calendar makes you look busy. It can also help keep you organized in the event you are actually busy.
